Red Tailed Hawk

We seem to have a Red Tailed Hawk infestation here in the middle of Hermitage. There are 4 of them that fly from telephone pole to telephone pole and talk (more like a high pitch whistle/screech) to each other. One of them is a young one and the mother is teaching it how to hunt. They start to screech around 6:30 AM and do it all day long!

I shot this picture last week as you can see the hawk captured a bunny and took it to our neighbor's garage roof to have a little snack! They don't see to be afraid of people and you can walk right underneath the pole they're sitting on. They just look down on you with utter disdain as if questioning, "what are you looking at"?

New Halloween Goodies!

Ok, I'll admit as much as I love summer half of my brain (the right side) is thinking about autumn already, therefore, I've started working on Halloween pieces. I'm really excited to introduce my new pendants as I've branched out to working with thin brass and vintage wooden dominoes. The best thing is that they are all $8 with free shipping.
You can find these new items for sale over at my Halloween Blog: www.allhallowsevening.blogspot.com

This little guy is known as King Kitchie Cat. The piece has been collaged on a hand cut brass back with layers of decorative papers and sealed with a thick glossy coat which is not only beautiful but super protective.
Mona Majestic is all ready for a night out at a Halloween party with her crown. This pendant has been created on a black wooden vintage domino.

What's that cat smiling about? I'm thinking it has to do with chocolate covered caramels! When I was little I had a tiger cat named "Sally Two Shoes" and she loved Marathon candy bars (chocolate covered caramel). Created on a domino with layers of collage, sealed with a thick shiny glaze, with tiny glass charms attached to the top.

This "Boo" dog tag has been created from a hand cut piece of thin gauge brass, collaged and sealed. It measures 2.5 inches by 1.5 inches.

If you see something you like, just email me and I'll put it back for you!

Garlic Time!!!

Well, it's garlic harvesting time here in PA! This year we had a great crop with nice big bulbs and they were all pretty much uniform in size. We harvested 97 bulbs. Now they'll dry for a few days and then Gary will braid them together into strings.

Bird Purse

A 6 inch by 6 inch wooden purse made for a good friend! Not done yet....needs a clear coat. No, it's not a Vera Bradley! I was thinking of a good name for a purse company as I was making this purse......how about.....Florence Feathers Purses? Dolorous DeForest Purses? Ethyl Alexander Purses? Mildred Gilger Purses? Emily Loutzenheizer Purses? (by the way these are all names of real people that I once knew!)

Inside of the purse.
The brass thingies on the bottom of the purse.
Now I just have to finish the little charms that attach to the handle!

Veggies and Inchies........

What a beautiful day it is, less humid and hot than yesterday's high of 92. It's very windy here which makes me absolutely convinced that if I put a wind turbine in my back yard I could generate electricity for the house!

The garden boxes are doing great! Hot days and warm nights are what those tomatoes like! Gary tied up the tomatoes up last night before the rain moved in.

The red and white sweet onion box...... I think these babies are going to be monsters! Can't wait to make Panzanella Salad with the red onions.
The garlic is almost ready to be harvested. We usually dig it after the 4th of July. I stuck a few eggplant in between the garlic, that's what you're seeing on the end of the box, they're not weeds.

Now to the flowers in just 3 words........
Run away Clematis.
Symmetry in Nature.

New Pink Lilly.

Very Bushy Plants.

Honey Bee Paradise.

I spent the late morning and some of the early afternoon working on inchies for a few swaps over at Amusing Muses.

For this one we could only use the colors: green, black and white.

This swap was monochromatic blue and 3/4 of inchie had to be blue.

The theme for this batch was "hats and crowns". I love a good hat.....or crown for that matter.

And lastly, the theme for this swap was....yes, you guessed it, "house".

I do believe that my favorite set is the black, green and white themed set. What's your favorite set?

More Eye Candy from the Time and Again Shop...

Hey there! Today I spent a very windy afternoon out on the back porch listening to the birds sing and my favorite jazz music, painting and snacking on these...........
My new favorite snack! They are made of brown rice and are super crispy!

What are these crabs chasing?
They're after Madeline!

She is the keeper of the lighthouse! She keeps the lamp lit and the ships safe. I painted her today on a 17 inches tall and 8 inches wide gallery wrapped canvas. It's 2 inches thick and the sides are painted with blue, black, white and red stripes. She's going to the Time and Again Shop tomorrow.

Now on to more pictues from the shop as I promised. Just look at this table filled with vintage ice cream dishes and soda glasses.

Here piggie, piggie!

Here goosie, goosie!
Here green duckie, duckie!

Look at this cute little toy oven! It has a little plug on the back so I assume it actual heats up!
We're coming up on July and you know what that means.......cherries!

Vintage table clothes........ lots of them!
